Found art

So, if you've found a nifty little something somewhere around town attached to a tag with this blog address on it, you've found the right spot. Maybe you already know all about found art, and this explanation is unnecessary for you. Maybe, however, you're wondering - who was that masked woman, and why did she leave that lovely, and dare I say incredibly well-made crafty *whatever you found* in/on the *wherever you found it*. You really should check out this site:
http://www.found-art.com/

That site pretty much inspired some friends of mine and I, but we sez to ourselves, we sez, "We are not by any wild stretch of the imagination artists. We are crafty folks, yes, but not artists. What if we totally plagiarized this idea, but with crafts?" So, that's pretty much what we did. The whole purpose of this is to just bring a little touch of brightness, happiness, or surprise to some one's day. I also strongly believe that whatever you found was for you - it was no accident that you found it. I made it for you. I really hope you enjoy it.

I am crazy about quotes. I mean, why bother to talk when someone with a much more famous name has undoubtedly said just what I wanted to say, only with a superior vocabulary, and in print, long before I even thought of it? So I'll leave you with a few quotes that express perfectly how I feel about this project:

You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. ~Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet

The only gift is a portion of thyself. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

What is bought is cheaper than a gift. ~Portuguese Proverb

If instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend, that would be giving as the angels give. ~George MacDonald

Pleasure is spread through the earth
In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find.~William Wordsworth, 1806

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

Happiness held is the seed; happiness shared is the flower. ~Author Unknown

Happiness is a by-product of an effort to make someone else happy. ~Gretta Brooker Palmer
